Each Pocket Patch is individually handcrafted and has variations in threads, stitching and applique fabrics. Sew, glue, rivet etc. to turn your jeans, bags, tote bag, backpack or bucket hat into one-of-a-kind; or as part of a quilt or wall hanging.
The Adinkra symbol Nkonsonkonson literally is meant to illustrate a chain “link.” A reminder to contribute to the community, that in unity lies strength.
The Black Power Fist with BLM acronym represents solidarity, resistance and empowerment within the African American community.
The flag of Burkina Faso is reimagined as a Power Fist in the shape of the African Continent. This original LRD design represents BLM & Pan-African solidarity with Burkina Faso and support for its anti-imperialist stance under Captain Ibrahim Traoré. Historically, pan-African movements have been linked to the liberation of Black people in the Americas.
These symbols are embroidered on a thrifted jeans back pocket.
LRD 'Thank You' card with description of the symbol is included.
