The Adinkra symbol Nkonsonkonson literally is meant to illustrate a chain “link.”reminder to contribute to the community, that in unity lies strength.

This upcycled jeans Pocket Patch embroidered with an original Lucy Roots Denim design uses symbols to represent African Americans and Native Americans as allies in the struggle, reenforcing that in unity lies strength.

The Black Power Fist with BLM acronym represents solidarity, resistance and empowerment within the African American community.

The Red Hand with MMIW acronym brings attention to the injustices indigenous women continue to experience in the 21st Century.

Black Liberation and Indigenous Peoples Sovereignty go hand-in-hand.

Embroidery and applique on a thrifted jean pocket. Each Pocket Patch is individually handcrafted and has variations in threads, stitching, and applique fabrics. This is for my DIY do-it-yourselfers to sew or glue, rivet etc., to your jeans, tote bags, backpack or bucket hat, etc.; or as part of a quilt or wall hanging.
