Embroidery and genuine leather applique on a thrifted jean pocket. Each Pocket Patch is individually handcrafted and has variations in threads stitching and applique fabrics. This is for my DIY do-it-yourselfers to sew or glue, rivet etc., to your jeans, tote bags, backpack or bucket hat; or as part of a quilt or wall hanging.
The Ankh is one of the most recognizable symbols from ancient Egypt, known as "the key of life" or the "cross of life". Created by Africans long ago, the ankh is said to be the first--or original—cross.
The ankh is often shown in the hands of important Egyptian figures, such as pharaohs and kings, preserving their immortality. Moreover, the ankh is commonly depicted in temples and in the grasp of major Egyptian gods. It could also have a more physical connotation: the ankh may represent water, air, and the sun, which were meant to provide and preserve life in Ancient Egyptian culture.
